HPM LLP was appointed to provide structural engineering services for the first few Waitrose Branches on Jersey Islands.
All three branches were existing supermarkets which required extensive refurbishment. As they were acquisitions, the construction programme varied between 2 - 4 weeks for each of the stores which required an extensive amount of planning during the design stage.
Our scope of works varied for each of the three branches but generally it included:
-Checking Roof Structure for new Mechanical Plants
-Providing flood barriers to one store as it was located in a valley and had suffered flooding previously
-Amending internal and external underground drainage
-Associated Builderswork for new services
