Jack Harrold

Jack first joined Hurst, Peirce + Malcolm as a placement student in 2016. After completing an integrated master’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Surrey he re-joined HPM as a graduate engineer in 2018. Jack achieved his membership to the IStructE and ICE in 2021 and 2022 respectively. He was promoted to associate in April 2023.

Jack has design experience in an array of projects in commercial and residential fields acting as lead project engineer. He is proficient in technical design, first principle justifications and software packages for 3D analysis. He has a varied project history including but not limited to; multi-million pound defence sector research facilities, historical building refurbishments, civil works in conservation areas, large retail/commercial developments, historic fabric condition surveys and defect remedial work specification. He has worked as a project manager on behalf of clients providing efficient and reliable advice.

Jack has a keen interest in personal development and has completed a 16 week “Construction Data Science” skills bootcamp at Northumbria University. He is currently undertaking a part-time MSc at University College London in “Built Environment: Sustainable Heritage” which he will complete in September 2024. Jack has a keen interest in heritage and conservation of the historic built environment.
