- Supermarkets
We have had a long association with Waitrose Ltd and have provided structural engineering services for a large number of stores.
Often they are located on difficult sites where special enabling works and basements are required to maximize the potential of the site.
- Department Stores
We have designed department stores for many years for the John Lewis Partnership and other chains. These include John Lewis, Oxford Street and Peter Jones, Sloane Square, for both of which we were the original structural engineers and where we have returned on a number of occasions to make modifications as retailing fashions change.
More recently, John Lewis at Cheadle was an edge of town store regarded as a flagship model for modern department stores.
- Warehouses
We have designed warehouses for distribution centres up to 11,000 m2 in area for department stores and supermarkets for both dry and chilled goods.
These include high bay and narrow aisle warehouses with joint free super flat floors.
- Offices
Not only do we design and supervise the construction of new office buildings, we also advise on their refurbishment and conversion and undertake structural appraisals.
- Residential
From high quality apartments to low cost housing, we undertake the full range of housing developments.
Modern designs seek to make properties as individual as possible which requires varying floor plate shapes. This makes the integration of the services and structure more complex and calls for good team work and careful co-ordination.
- Data Centres
Data Centres present their own challenges for specialist servicing needs to meet client requirements for continuity of service at all times.
We have designed specialist new data centres as well as converting old office buildings, factory units and warehouses to this use.
