Small Jobs
We carry out a wide range of small jobs for an equally wide range of clients including advice on:
- Cracking
- Rusty steelwork
- Floor loading
- Concrete repair
- Regent Street Disease
- Openings in wall and floors
- Subsidence
Below are some examples of our range:
Temporary Works
Advising on temporary works design of all types including, as shown, propping for party walls whilst an adjoining building is demolished and rebuilt.
Rusting Steelwork
Fire escape stairs for a London mansion block: an example of rusting of steelwork exacerbated by the breeze concrete infill used to construct the landings. Breeze concrete, sometimes called clinker concrete, is highly corrosive to steel when wet. Our work included assessing the extent of the damage and advising on the remedial works.
Joints in Decks
Advice on repairs to the joint in a service yard deck above shop units. Many 1960's and 1970's shopping centres were built with parking above the shops and the movement joints often leak.
Additional Dock Levellers
Preparation of structural details for fitting dock levellers into an existing docking area for a distribution warehouse.
Plant Support Steelwork
Analysis of the roof structure to assess capacity to carry load from plant and design of the steel grillage support to transfer load from the plant to column locations.
